4 ideal sewing jobs to start

1- Curtains for small windows. It’s a simple job. Measure the width you want for the curtains and multiply that measurement by one and a half times if you don’t want too much gathering and by two if you want it to have very marked waves. Add three inches, four on each side, for the hems. You will also need to have a curtain ruffle tape distributor with the system that you like the most. One of the simplest is the eyelet system. Sew the ribbon to the top and hang the curtains to measure the length. Pin the length and make a wide hem to give the curtain a little more weight.

  1. Transform jeans into a skirt. It is a fun and very attractive job. If you have a pair of jeans that you don’t wear because you don’t like the cut anymore or you’re a bit bored, you can turn them into a short skirt. Measure the length you want for the skirt and mark the fabric both front and back. Leave a few extra inches to make a hem if you wish. Open the seams on the inside of the legs and the center of the pants. Sew the sides and you will see that there is a triangular space in front and another behind, in the center, which has no fabric. With the leftover leg fabric, you can make these triangles and sew them. You will have a beautiful skirt.
  2. Transform dress into skirt. It’s a very easy sewing job, especially if you’re making a rubber skirt that doesn’t have to have a waistband. Cut the dress about two inches above the waist and make a hem inside which you can put an elastic band. Hem the hem, leaving a small slit on one side, on both sides of the side seam. Take a rubber band and measure around your waist to find out how much you need. Cut the piece you need and insert it inside the waist hem. Tie the ends together and let the skirt gather.
  3. Turn jeans into shorts. It is a simple job but you have to be careful so that both legs are exactly the same. Measure, mark well the length you want and draw a line on both sides of the pants before cutting. You won’t even have to sew if you don’t want to, you can let the jeans fray or you can even cut them a little longer than you want to wear them to make a fold.

Make a difference

We are often asked how we have been able to stay at the top of our industry for so many years. And the answer is simple: learn to fail. Any firm in any industry that wants to progress must be prepared to make mistakes. Because if you think that you are always going to make the right decisions, you have made the wrong profession. The point is to draw adequate conclusions from both successes and failures.

As a leading manufacturer of natural fiber cord, our firm has always been open to innovation. Innovating means trying to always go one step further, not only to differentiate ourselves from the competition, but also to offer the customer the best solutions adapted to a changing market in a world in permanent transformation. Because business changes and fashions change, and materials cannot always be identical, nor can the method by which they are manufactured.

But there is also a less pleasant side to innovation. When you always try to go one step further, you have to be prepared to fail, because not all innovations work properly. We can give an example of any company in any sector. For example, it is the case of technology. The most prestigious companies in the market are often the ones that make the most mistakes, because they are the ones that risk the most. But if you do not risk, you will always be one step behind the competition and you will never offer customers the best service that you are qualified to give.

Of course, moving forward also requires learning from mistakes. As a leading company and manufacturer of first level natural fiber cord, we have always tried to offer our clients a wide range of products combining traditional materials that are very successful and combining them with new proposals that adapt to the latest market trends. If a finish or a material is not as successful as we expect, we evaluate the reasons why it does not work and we try to optimize it. And this is how we work. Despite our prestige, every day we try to start over from scratch, trying to convince our clients as if it were the first time.
